How To Organize a Successful Corporate Events?

In a company aimed at success, corporate events have long ceased to be amateur performances or ordinary feasts. How do organize a corporate event so that it becomes a step towards development and prosperity?

Goal setting

Each corporate should work for one or more particularly relevant goals:

  • Unity of the team;
  • Focus on results;
  • Formation of corporate culture;
  • Formation of a positive image of the company in the minds of its employees, partners, and senior management (for industry divisions, and branches);
  • Advertising, product promotion;
  • Acquisition of important skills, and knowledge;
  • Setting goals and objectives for development.

To correctly define the goal, you need to understand well what exactly at this particular moment is important for the company or team. Therefore, the management is working on the goal together with the HR manager, marketers, and analysts.

When pressing problems are identified, the organizer of corporate events is selected – from employees or a third party.

It is worth noting that organizing an event on your own is associated with certain risks. Even on an ordinary holiday, guests get bored, they quarrel, they can afford to drink too much, and the invitees gather in separate groups. A corporate event can turn into a meeting that will not unite but divide the team just like the CMO conferences, tension will arise between colleagues, and employees will form a negative attitude towards each other and the company as a whole.

Important!  According to a study by the HeadHunter portal, about 22% (!) of employees hate corporate events. As it turned out, 20% of this 22% have corporate parties held by company employees, and 19% – due to non-working hours or days off.

Is it worth the risk, or is it better to invite someone who will not let guests get bored, will make an entertainment program with different interests, and will not allow negativity at the celebration?

Important!  No goal of the event will be achieved if you hold it on a weekend or after a hard day’s work. The exception is hiking trips, and joint trips, but only at the sincere desire of employees.

Depending on the purpose, the form of the corporate event is chosen, and the circle of invitees, responsible persons, and funds is allocated for holding.

The organizer of a corporate event – how to choose a worthy one

Without exception, all event agencies advertise themselves as unsurpassed masters in organizing holidays. In order not to make a mistake in choosing, pay attention to the following points:

  • Age of the company: of course, sometimes age comes without experience, but in the face of fierce competition, a bad company simply will not survive;
  • References, portfolio: great if you can talk to one or two clients of the company, and not just read the reviews on the site. The portfolio also says a lot – with photographs, and a brief description of the scenarios. The site is indicative: if a potential organizer talks about different aspects of preparing corporate events, and nuances, and covers the topic as fully as possible, this indicates the seriousness of the agency;
  • License: it is necessary if the agency provides transport (transport), organizes meals, attractions, training, and other events, the conduct of which is related to ensuring the safety of participants;
  • Price list: trust is caused by a company that does not hide the prices for services. Of course, depending on the scenario and other moments of the holiday, prices may vary – within reason.

Important!  When agreeing with the agency, write down in as much detail as possible all the points of cooperation, the area of responsibility, and, if possible, actions in case of force majeure.

How does the goal determine the form of a corporate event?

In principle, any form can be adapted to the purpose. But there are the most beneficial combinations.

What corporate events can be held, guided by a particular goal?

  • The unification of the team, the team is excellently served, in addition to team building, anniversary corporate parties, events dedicated to state and corporate holidays – February 23, March 8, New Year, as well as joint trips, field trips, quests, theme parties, etc .;
  • Focus on results, the formation of corporate culture is facilitated by solemn conferences/meetings held in a lively, informal style – with summing up and a story about employees who have made a special contribution to the success of the company, musical numbers, presentation of valuable branded gifts, inviting family members of employees;
  • A positive image of the company is successfully created through forums, promotions, presentations, and anniversary meetings with the participation of partners, management, and customers – they also work for advertising;
  • Team training and the development of necessary skills occur during training and seminars.
